H&M, a clothing retailer that sells products based off runway designs at lower prices, is opening a store at the Southland Center in Taylor in October. The new store follows the opening of a new storefront last week at Laurel Park Place in Livonia, and one planned for Troy later in the fall.
“H&M is thrilled to be opening at Southland Center and looks forward to providing quality fashion at the best price and in a sustainable way to our customers,” says Patrick Shaner, a spokesman for H&M.
Shaner says the 25,000-square-foot store will offer ladies, men’s, young ladies, and young men’s clothing, along with cosmetics, accessories, lingerie, and sports apparel. The store will also offer a children’s collection, designed for newborns and kids up to 14 years old.
He says H&M will hire 30 people to staff the store at the Southland Center, located at 23000 Eureka Rd. The retailer, which specializes in fashion-forward clothing and cotton basics, has recently announced storefronts at Oakland Mall in Troy and the Macomb Mall in Roseville, both set to open this fall.
H&M’s other Michigan locations include Novi, Sterling Heights, Clinton Township, Dearborn, Auburn Hills, Ann Arbor, Okemos, and Grand Rapids.
H&M, which opened its first U.S. store in New York City 15 years ago, has 380 storefronts across the country and about 16,000 employees.
