H&M, a clothing retailer that sells products based off runway designs at lower prices, is opening a store at Oakland Mall in Troy  — its ninth location in Michigan — this fall.

The 20,000 square foot store will offer clothing for men, women, and children (newborn to 14 years), along with accessories, maternity wear, sports apparel, and a plus sized line. H&M will hire 30 people to staff the store at Oakland Mall.

The Swedish retail company is known as being a fast fashion retailer, meaning they quickly turn around trends seen at Fashion Week in the spring and fall and sell them at a lower price by manufacturing them quickly and inexpensively. Prices can range anywhere from $10 for a tank top to about $300 for a suede jacket.

H&M’s other Michigan locations include Novi, Sterling Heights, Clinton Township, Dearborn, Auburn Hills, Ann Arbor, Okemos, and Grand Rapids. An H&M store set to open at Macomb Mall in Roseville this fall was announced earlier this year.

H&M first opened in the United States in New York City 15 years ago. The company has about 362 stores across the county and 15,000 U.S. employees.
