TownePlace Suites, an extended-stay hotel brand by Marriott, is opening a new 87-suite location on Aug. 15 in Troy.
Located at 325 Stephenson Highway, the TownePlace Suites Detroit Troy will be owned and managed by Madison Heights-based A&M Hospitality Services Inc., which with its affiliates owns more than 80 hotels in Michigan and Ohio, including such brands as Fairfield Inn and Suites, Days Inn, Knights Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, and Holiday Inn Express Suites.
“Providing an upscale residential atmosphere, this TownePlace Suites hotel offers an appealing alternative to more standard hotel rooms designed for shorter stays,” says Loren Nalewanski, vice president and global brand manager of TownePlace Suites.
The property will offer studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens that have stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, as well as separate living and sleeping areas.
Nalewanski says the hotel lobby is designed to feel like a community coffeehouse, and displays a floor-to-ceiling map that features local places to eat, nightspots, recreation areas, shopping, and other services, such as dry cleaners and car wash outlets.
A complimentary breakfast is available to guests in the lobby area, as well as a 24-hour coffee service and a 24-hour market.
Other hotel amenities include an indoor swimming pool, a 24-hour exercise room, complimentary wireless internet throughout the hotel, and on-site business services. The hotel is also pet-friendly and provides laundry facilities.
The TownePlace Suites brand, launched in 1997, has more than 200 locations in the United States and Canada.
