Time for Pizza? Domino’s Customers Track Delivery via Smartwatch

It’s been two years since Pebble Technology Corp. in Palo Alto, Calif. debuted its first smartwatch, and the company’s app store now features more than 4,000 applications, the most recent addition being one for Ann Arbor-based Domino’s Pizza.

“Partnering with Pebble makes perfect sense for our brand, as we continue to innovate and reinvent the ways Domino’s and technology can interact,” says Kevin Vasconi, Domino’s CIO.

By loading the app onto a Pebble watch and synching it with the Domino’s mobile app for either iPhone or Android, a customer can receive notifications on the watch from Domino’s Tracker, which sends updates about orders from the time it is taken to when it is baked and out for delivery.

This marks the first time that Domino’s Tracker has been available on any smartwatch device.

“We’re thrilled to be the first smartwatch to partner with Domino’s and help bring their …  tracker experience to the wrist,” says Shobeir Shobeiri, a member of Pebble’s business development team. “We designed Pebble to mesh seamlessly into your life, and the Domino’s Tracker app is a natural addition to our growing appstore.”

Released earlier this year, the company’s premium model, Pebble Steel, costs $200. For more information about the watch, click here.
