
The 52nd Annual Outdoorama will take place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi from Feb. 20-23. It is southeast Michigan’s oldest outdoors show.
Traditional favorites including Big Buck Night East, a large display of boats and boating accessories, The Trout Pond, Live Birds of Prey, Outfitter Expo, Trophy Scoring by Commemorative Bucks of Michigan, a seminar lineup, and more.
New this year is JUMP — The Ultimate Dog Show featuring energetic canine sporting activities including Speed Agility, Weave Pole Racing, Frisbee Tricks, Dock Diving, and Novel Pet Tricks.
Aside from features and seminars, patrons will find hunting, fishing and marine gear, boats, and outfitters and guides from across North America and beyond.
“Thousands of outdoors enthusiasts circle the dates for Outdoorama as soon as we announce them because they know that family fun, conservation, and outdoors education await at the longest running outdoors show in southeast Michigan,” says Ben Nielsen, show manager of Outdoorama.
Big Buck Night-East, an annual family staple on Michigan Out-of-Doors TV, will be filmed on Feb. 20 starting at 6 p.m. It’s free with admission and doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Outfitters Expo also provides show patrons with family vacation and adventure travel opportunities, including hunting and fishing destinations throughout North America and beyond. Book a fishing trip to Canada, an elk hunt in Idaho, a safari in Africa, or any number of other trips and destinations.
Commemorative Bucks of Michigan measurers will be on hand all four days of the show, providing free scoring of trophy deer, bear, elk, and turkey. Patrons who have their trophies scored are encouraged to display them on the Outdoorama Buck Boards.
On Feb 22, deer hunters can learn how to process their own deer when Steve Francis, owner of Country Smokehouse in Almont, gives a demonstration on field dressing, skinning, butchering, and packaging a white-tailed deer.
An added bonus for Outdoorama patrons is free crossover admission to the 18th annual Cottage & Lakefront Living Show, held concurrently at Suburban Collection Showplace.
The first 250 attendees on Thursday and Friday receive a free, collectible Dardevle spoon. The first 250 attendees on Saturday and Sunday will receive a K&E Bass Stopper.
Outdoorama is Feb. 20-23. Show hours are Thursday, 1 to 8 p.m.; Friday, 1noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 adults, $5 children 6 to 14, free for children 5 and under. On-site parking is $10.
