The Ascend Hotel Collection, one of Choice Hotels International’s upscale brands, has announced the addition of the The Leo Collection Detroit to its portfolio of boutique, historic, and resort hotels.

Located at 1805 John A. Papalas Dr. in Lincoln Park (near I-75 and the Southfield Freeway), the hotel will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 19. The hotel states it offers the convenience of being near Detroit without the hassles associated with big cities.

“The hotel was designed with a modern and a cozy aesthetic,” says Ankur Patel, owner of The Leo Collection Detroit. “In designing this 82-room property it was important to have a sleek modern look. Additionally, having artwork throughout the property showcasing Detroit artists and Detroit famous places reminds visitors of the pride true Detroiters have for their city.”

It features a jacuzzi suite, an indoor heated pool, and a third-floor cocktail bar called the Petal Lounge. Most rooms are suites, but all offer a refrigerator, microwave, flatscreen TV, and coffee maker to offer the same level of luxury of a boutique stay.

Other amenities include a fitness area, complimentary continental breakfast, pet-friendly rooms, and exterior patio with a fire pit and private event space, and a room for meetings with a banquet space.

Nearby attractions include spending a day on the water of Lake Erie, exploring Fighting Island, checking out local art at Assumption Park, and mural along the BELT. It’s also nearby the TCF Center, Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, and Ford Field.

It offers a variety of packages, including romantic getaway jacuzzi suite packages, sports packages, Henry Ford, airport park and fly packages, along with corporate or group rates with discounted meeting room rentals for events.

“We are excited to be offering many packages for the selective traveler,” says Patel.
