The popular storage and organization products retailer The Container Store will open its first storefront in Michigan in Novi in June. Another store will open in Troy in the fall.
“…(We) aim to open our stores amongst other synergistic retailers that share the same target customer, in order to provide a one-stop shopping destination,” says Casey Shilling, vice president of public relations and marketing communications for The Container Store.
The 22,000-square-foot store, to be located at 43525 W. Oaks Dr. in the West Oaks Shopping Plaza near Michael’s and Old Navy, will offer more than 10,000 products. Shilling says the products are organized into 16 categories such as closet, kitchen, office, travel, and laundry. The store has more than 300 food storage solutions, 750 office products, 70 types of laundry hampers, and 200 different sizes and colors of hangers.
Shilling says the Novi store will offer a pickup service that allows items to be ordered online and picked up for free in the store, along with a gift registry. The Container Store will also offer custom design services through elfa, staffed with space and closet designers that will be available every day to create customized storage and organization solutions for the home or office.
The store in Troy will open at the Troy Commons Shopping Center along Big Beaver Road near Rochester Road.
The Container Store, founded in 1978 in Dallas, has 80 stores across the nation. The Novi store will open June 4.
