Southfield-based Telemus Financial Life Management has completed the acquisition of Barrington Strategic Wealth Group (BSWG) in Chicago. The acquisition continues to expand Telemus’ presence throughout the Midwest and allows the company to service a broader audience throughout the region.
“Barrington Strategic Wealth Group’s separately managed account strategies will be just one of the many benefits we will be able to offer to Telemus clients from the acquisition,” says Gary Ran, chairman and CEO of Telemus.
With $350 million in assets, BSWG specializes in addressing the needs of high network clients with a focus on conserving money. At the helm since 2009, founder Diana Joseph will join Telemus as a partner and co-chief investment officer.
“This transaction allows us to leverage the substantial operational capabilities of Telemus and Focus, provide robust manager due-diligence and research, add diverse separate account strategies to Telemus and sophisticated planning capabilities to Chicago,” adds Joseph.
Working under Focus Financial Partners since 2013, Telemus is part of a national network of independent firms that benefit from organizational and transitional support, helping firms stay focused on client needs. The acquisition is Telemus’ first significant transaction since partnering with Focus Financial.
The acquisition allows Telemus to offer fully staffed locations in Southfield, Ann Arbor, and Chicago, as well as an office in Los Angeles.
