SVS Vision is the latest tenant to open its doors in the Gateway Marketplace at the corner of Eight Mile and Woodward in Detroit near the former site of the Michigan State Fair complex. The $72-million development, which broke ground in May 2012, is now 95 percent leased.

“We’re very excited to be a part of the revitalization of Detroit,” says Cathy Walker, spokeswoman for the Mount Clemens-based SVS Vision, which has 41 offices in Michigan. “The new Gateway Marketplace shopping center is another example of Detroit’s resurgence and we are glad to be a part of it.”

SVS joins other retail and service businesses at the 36-acre site, including Radio Shack, Wingstop, Meijer, Marshalls, K&G Fashion Superstore, and a PNC Bank. In all, the project has more than 350,000 square feet of retail.

Officials of Redico LLC, who are developing the site,  say that there are 175,000 customers, or 68,000 households, within a three-mile radius of the Gateway Marketplace, with nearly 120,000 cars passing the Eight Mile and Woodward intersection daily.
