StrechLab, an assisted stretching franchise headquartered in California, is opening a new studio in Northville Township, with grand opening festivities Dec. 7-9.
The public is invited to attend any of the planned activities planned. StretchLab Northville is owned and operated by Shawn Byrnes, a local entrepreneur. He also operates a Stretch Lab studio in West Bloomfield Township that opened in 2022.
Festivities begin with a that ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 7. Attendees can enjoy free demo stretches, raffle prizes, new member specials, and a host of other activities planned for Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9.
Located at 17941 Haggerty Road in Northville Township (west of Haggerty Road and north of Six Mile Road), the studio offers people of all ages and fitness levels a variety of health and wellness benefits that come with working with trained flexologists in an open, modern, fun, and approachable environment.
“We are thrilled to bring StretchLab’s award-winning services to the Northville area,” Byrnes says. “Assisted stretching is a health and wellness activity that can be utilized by people of all ages.”
StretchLab offers a variety of one-on-one personalized stretching services including a 25-minute stretch that concentrates on the client’s current stretching needs, as well as a 50-minute head-to-toe deep stretch that addresses all major muscle groups.
Flexologists hold a nationally recognized certificate in assisted stretching, as the flexologist training program is accredited by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, a first in the field of assisted stretching and something no other brand offers.
Monthly membership is available for four or eight visits per month, as well as drop-in stretches. StretchLab Northville studio will also offer MAPS, a revolutionary imaging technology that identifies movement inefficiencies across four critical categories: Mobility, Activation, Posture and Symmetry.
The MAPS score is created utilizing 3-D imaging to perform a total body movement assessment scan in under 30 seconds, as users perform three body-weight squats. Results are delivered on-screen and via email which allows StretchLab’s flexologists to better serve the needs of its diverse members. This creates a customized movement plan and offers a measurable way to see progress in flexibility.
StretchLab Northville is open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday. StretchLab Northville is closed on Sunday’s. The studio can be reached online, by email at northville@stretchlab.com, or by phone at 248-481-5644.
