Following the lead of other automakers, Auburn Hills-based Stellantis adopted the North American Charging System (NACS) in North America, Japan, and South Korea. It gives Stellantis EV owners access to the Tesla Supercharger network in all three places.

The NACS, formerly the Tesla Charging System, features more than 28,000 charging stations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico starting early next year with Japan and South Korea coming online in 2027.

The move mirrors similar efforts by other companies, including Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Kia, and more. Owners of the Jeep Wagoneer S, Dodge Charger Daytona, and later in 2026, the Jeep Recon, will be able to use the high-speed network at some point during the first quarter of next year.

Stellantis officials say the company will release more details later about network accessibility and adapters later.

“This collaboration underscores Stellantis’ strategy to offer freedom of choice by supporting vehicles that fulfill customer requirements and meet consumer demand,” say Stellantis officials. “By unlocking broader access to charging infrastructure, Stellantis gives customers more choice, more coverage and more control over how, where and when they power their BEVs.”

The move to adopt the NACS aims to increase the already overtaxed EV charging network as companies like ChargePoint race to expand their current collection of charging stations. The California-based company revealed plans to build a new ultra-fast EV charging site in Canton.

It will be owned and operated by the Dabaja Brothers Development Group of Westland. The new site is the first in a series of locations that ultimately will have 40 charging ports when complete — all from ChargePoint.
