Stefanini Announces New CEO for North America and Asia Pacific Regions

Stefanini, a $1 billion global IT provider in Brazil which operates its North American headquarters in Southfield, says it will open an innovation center here in the first half of the year to help meet its goal of growing its business by 25 percent in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Asian Pacific markets by 2020.

Marco Stefanini, founder and global CEO, says the company may seek an acquisition to meet its growth goals. In addition, the IT provider today announced it hired Spenser Gracias as CEO for the North American and Asian Pacific regions. Gracias, who has worked for Whirlpool, General Motors, ABN Amro Bank, and Santander Bank, has a background in implementing common, global processes for distributed infrastructure, application environments, and governance.

“North America is the world’s largest consumer of technology and one of the great promoters of innovation. Since we have maintained our presence in the United States since 2001, it is time to reach higher ambitions in our U.S. operations, including the possibility of acquiring a company that is in line with our strategy of creating a stronger presence in the digital era,” says Stefanini.

Gracias says he will implement a strategic plan that reinforces Stefanini’s goal of acting as a digital transformation agent for clients. “Through a close relationship and strong understanding of our clients’ business challenges, we will work in partnership with them to make their business grow,” Gracias says.

In recent years, Stefanini has built a structure to promote digital transformation for its customers, including operational efficiency, Internet of Things, and cloud computing. “Through a strong partnership, we are able to recognize the client’s pain points and demonstrate how technology can help and provide the best solution,” he says.

In February, Stefanini announced investments in North America and Asia Pacific with the goal of growing 25 percent in both regions by 2020. To reach this goal, the company is focusing on leading digital transformation movements, tailoring them to bring direct benefits to the growth of clients’ businesses. Physical changes are also planned for various offices, including the U.S. headquarters in Southfield which will open its first innovation center in the first half of 2017. Stefanini has deemed these changes strategic to the company’s global growth, and says the center will “reinforce innovative culture and bring about many benefits for employees, partners, and the community.”
