Troy-based SRG Global, a Tier 1 automotive interior and exterior trim supplier, has introduced an updated version of its G-Coat vehicle finish process.
The updated G-Coat uses a tint-over-chrome process to deliver metallic surface finishes for both exterior and interior automotive applications, and improve paint adhesion to chrome-plated plastic parts.
An expanded variety of custom color options are available for G-Coat, including a bronze-copper, earth tones, purple, and high optical deep black finish not achievable by other technologies.
“We see automobiles as an extension of a consumer’s preferences, personality, and lifestyle,” says Dave Prater, president and CEO of SRG Global. “This (updated G-Coat) proprietary process allows our automaker customers more flexibility and options when adding differentiation to their vehicles.”
G-Coat also provides enhanced corrosion protection and fingerprint resistance, and meets multiple automotive OEM performance standards for basecoat and clear coat paint systems.
SRG Global has a manufacturing presence in North America, Western and Central Europe, and Asia. Through its advanced development centers in Taylor, Mich.; Spain; and China, the company works to enhance manufacturing processes, development, and delivery of materials, coating technologies, and sub-systems.
