Bluewater Technologies Group Inc. in Southfield, a systems integrator and provider of creative technology for events, announced plans to relocate its headquarters to Novi from Southfield in summer 2020. The new location will be a new ground-up construction, and work is expected to begin next month.

The new headquarters will be located at 45833 W. 12 Mile Road and is expected to create 81 jobs and include a private investment of up to $34 million, resulting in a $300,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp.’s Michigan Strategic Fund. The city also anticipates approval of a property tax abatement, and the MEDC authorized a state education tax abatement. Information on working for Bluewater is available here.

The 90,000-square-foot location will include a warehouse to showcase the company’s solutions. It will also provide room for future expansion and amenities including game rooms, an exercise room, showers, a kitchen, and a dining room on top of meeting and work space.

“We believe it’s the intersection of strategy, creativity and innovation that creates the strongest experiences,” says John Tracy, CEO. “We are intensely passionate about creating the absolute best experiences possible for our employees, clients, and partners. This new facility together with our amazing employees will provide us the foundation to further these objectives and a workspace that will be our home for years to support the rapid growth we are experiencing in all our business units.

“This new building gives us the space and amenities that will help us retain and recruit the very best talent and will go a long way in maintaining a culture that fosters radical, disruptive ideas, is highly collaborative, hardworking and, most importantly, fun.”

The space will be developed and constructed by Amson Nassar Development in Birmingham. Amson Nassar works in real estate acquisition, development, construction, and management.

Bluewater was founded in 1985 as an audio-visual rental shop.
