Southfield Firm Brokers Deal Between SoundCom Corp. and Ametek Inc.

Ametek, a supplier of electronic equipment in Pennsylvania, has acquired SoundCom Corp., based in Cleveland. P&M Corporate Finance LLC (PMCF) in Southfield made the announcement and served as the exclusive financial adviser for the deal.

Ametek is a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. SoundCom designs, integrates, installs, and supports clinical workflow and communication systems.

SoundCom, which specializes in sound, video, and communication solutions for healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and corporations, joins Ametek as part of its electronics instruments group, which specializes in analytical, monitoring, testing, calibrating, and display instruments.

Ametek has annualized sales of more than $4.7 billion.

“PMCF was heavily involved throughout each phase of the transaction process,” says Paul Fussner, president of SoundCom. “With significant senior banker involvement, Matt (Jamison) and Matt (Rupprecht) led company positioning, transaction strategy, and deal negotiation.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
