Profile by Sanford, a South Dakota-based health and wellness chain, has entered into Michigan through locations in Troy, Ann Arbor, and West Bloomfield. Another location is slated to open Jan. 1, 2020 in Plymouth.
Profile was created in 2011 when the CEO of Sanford Health in South Dakota challenged the organization to offer a weight loss program rooted in science and research. Its Clinic and Scientific Advisory Board designed a program to effectively deliver nutrition, activity, and lifestyle coaching.
The West Bloomfield franchise has been open for a little less than a year, and the Troy and Ann Arbor franchises opened over the summer.
“Profile takes the unique approach of getting to know someone and connecting with them and using that relationship to help achieve their wellness goals,” says Kristen Armstrong, franchise owner of the West Bloomfield location. “It is rare to say that you love what you do, but I truly enjoy being a part of Profile. We have helped many members achieve better health and accomplish goals they never could’ve imagined … it truly has made it all worth it.”
Members choose between two plans: Reboot and Balance. Reboot helps members reach and maintain a healthy weight. It includes a high-protein, low-carbohydrate, low-fat nutrition plan that offers an easy-to-follow structure. Clients work with certified coaches to increase physical activity and make healthy lifestyle changes.
Balance is designed for individuals with specific medical histories or special dietary needs. In some cases, a referral from a physician may be required to begin this plan.
Profile also offers Profile Precise, a test using members’ DNA to create tailored nutrition plans. The company also sells food and supplements created by Sanford physicians and nutritionists.
Locations include spaces for one-on-one meetings with coaches, spaces to shop for food and supplements, and space for workshops and classes.
Future Michigan locations are planned for Shelby Township, Rochester, Farmington, Bloomfield Township, Livonia, and Novi.
There are 140 Profile locations across the U.S. and another 390 in development.
