Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park is expanding in metro Detroit, with new locations in Taylor and Novi, set to open in August and November, respectively.

With facilities in Canton and Shelby townships, franchisees Colleen Fitzgerald and Kathy Llamas say the Taylor location will employ approximately 70 people who will be trained in safety techniques, regulations, and standards.

“The safety structures put in place by the corporate office makes for a much strong program,” Fitzgerald says. “I would never have done this with any other trampoline organization.”

Established in 2004, Sky Zone has indoor trampoline parks — offering all-trampoline walled playing courts — throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. The patented concept provides activities including basketball dunking, dodge ball, and SkyRobics fitness classes to birthday parties, corporate events, and other group outings.

The 20,000-square-foot Taylor facility, at 23269 Eureka Rd., will offer Open Jump Court time in 30-minute increments, with most jumpers spending an hour to 90 minutes on the court. Pricing depends on jump time, ranging from $10 for 30 minutes to $22 for two hours.

The Novi facility is planned for Beck Road, one mile north of I-96. A typical facility of around 35,000 square feet of space employs between 70 and 100 people. Corporate retreats and team building outings are available, as well.

Fitzgerald says Sky Zone also reserves times specifically for younger children, from walking age to six years old, as well as special needs children on certain Mondays.
