Fixed-based operator Signature Flight Support has opened its $1.3 million renovated facility at Detroit Metro Airport to provide fueling, ground handling, and maintenance services to private and commercial aircraft operators.

“Detroit is very special to us, so much so that we are reintroducing the Signature Flight Support brand back into the community,” says Maria Sastre, president and COO. She says the upgraded facility includes state of the art technology and exclusive amenities “to facilitate the world-class customer experience.”

In March, Signature Flight Support signed an agreement to acquire the assets of AFCO and Quantem FBO Services LLC at Detroit Metro Airport. Signature’s sister company, Aircraft Service International Group, has been providing fueling and ground handling services for general aviation, as well as offering commercial fueling and handling at Metro Airport.

Signature will now provide fueling, ground handling, and portable water services for general aviation clients, while Aircraft Service International Group will continue to provide commercial fueling and ground handling services at the airport.

Orlando-based Signature Flight Support Corp. operates at more than 100 locations in the U.S., Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia.
