Sanders Candy Shoppe Headquarters Begins Remodel

Clinton Township-based Sanders and Morley Candy Makers today announced the company’s Chocolate and Ice Cream Shoppe headquarters will undergo renovations with plans to re-open this fall.

The new store will increase the company’s footprint by more than 30 percent and include an on-site bakery, seating for 125 people, and a combination of modern and traditional design.

“Sanders has always provided metro Detroiters with unique experiences and products you can’t find anywhere else,” says Brian Jefferson, chairman and CEO of Sanders and Morley Candy Makers. “We’re so excited about the new store because it’s going to be unlike any other candy shop Michigan has seen before.”

The remodel was catalyzed by Sanders’ double-digit growth over the past decade, and the company’s commitment to reviving the brand by using real ingredients and returning to original recipes dating back as far as 1875.

“We are grateful for our growing sales and increased national recognition, but we know it wouldn’t be possible without our strong customer base continuing to share us with family and friends,” says Ron Rapson, president of Sanders and Morley Candy Makers. “This new store is just one more way to allow us to continue investing locally to give the metro Detroit community even more positive memorable experiences.”

During construction, the Clinton township location will remain open in a temporary site inside the Sanders and Morley Candy Headquarters with limited hours Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
