Wabco Holdings Inc., a global supplier of technologies that improve the safety, efficiency, and connectivity of commercial vehicles, has announced it will combine its headquarters in Rochester Hills and a new North American Customer Care Center, moving them both to Auburn Hills.
The move is expected to take place sometime this quarter when construction on the new location is completed. The building is 102,000 square feet and will house about 200 employees. The company plans to keep a small office in Rochester Hills, but the rest of its operation will move to 1220 Pacific Drive, Auburn Hills.
“Over the past years, Wabco has greatly expanded its commitment to the North American market place and our industry,” says Jon Morrison, president of Wabco Americas. The company focuses on commercial vehicle manufacturers, fleet operators, dealers, and distributors in the region.
The firm has expanded its product offering following the acquisition of four high-tech manufacturing businesses in North America since April 2016. The new center will provide customer support for Wabco technologies as well as Sheppard steering gears, MICO off-highway systems, aerodynamic solutions tied to the acquisition of Laydon Composites, and products associated with Meritor Wabco.
The center will combine the technical service teams of Wabco and acquired companies and will include a dedicated aftermarket sales desk for part order processing.
Wabco’s global headquarters are in Belgium.
