Steward Media will host Commercial Real Estate Speed Networking at The Townsend Hotel in downtown Birmingham from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. The evening will include a keynote from Kevin Johnson, CEO of Detroit Economic Growth Corp., and remarks from R.J. King, editor of DBusiness magazine, DBusiness Daily News, Tech and Mobility News, and Detroit 500.

“Developers, brokers, national tenants, landlords, service providers, and investors will all be in attendance, providing an opportunity to network and meet the very professionals that keep the market humming,” says Derek Dickow, founder of Steward Media in Birmingham.

“Mr. Johnson will give a brief keynote forecast about growth in commercial real estate in Detroit. He brings a wealth of insight on metro Detroit’s growth patterns and the industry overall, and we’re honored to introduce him to developers in our network.”

Speed networking will allow attendees to meet other professionals within the industry. Guests will enjoy drinks, appetizers, and a minimum of 12 interactions.

“This year we’ve invited more than 120 mayors, city managers, and economic development specialists to promote their communities,” says Dickow. “Commercial real estate thrives when local government and developers develop real partnerships to improve the community. This event provides communities a forum to show that they are open for business and ready to grow.”

During the event, King will promote and personally sign his new book, “Detroit: Engine of America,” co-published by Momentum Books in Troy and Written in Detroit. The journal-style book captures the real-life story of how Detroit grew, step by step, from a French fort on the riverfront to the world’s largest manufacturing economy in 1900. It also details all of the colorful characters along the way, including Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the Buhl family, Stroh, Scripps, Vernor, Ford, and many more.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here or by calling (248) 973-6070. More information is available here.
