Puff Cannabis in Madison Heights is moving its corporate headquarters to a 20,000-square-foot building in Troy, where it will take its place as the largest privately owned cannabis company headquarters in the United States, company officials state.

The business, which was formed in 2019, is moving to accommodate its growth. It has seen revenue go from $7.3 million in its first year to a projected more than $150 million in 2023.

The building, which is visible from I-75, is located at 1017 Naughton in Troy (near Stephenson Highway/Rochester Road exit). The move is expected to be complete by January 2024.

The company will double its corporate staff when it moves into the one-story building, including Justin Elias, founder and president; Calvin Elias, the company’s CEO; along with the Puff Cannabis marketing, human resources, and legal counsel teams.

The building will feature an 8,000-square-foot distribution warehouse for the company’s Puff apparel and other promotional items, and the Puff cannabis online store also will use the facility as a home base. Puff is spending an excess of $1 million to renovate the building to accommodate company needs and work will begin immediately.

This environmentally friendly and modern office space will be completed using green materials, energy efficient lighting, and solar panels. JV Design Group of Bloomfield Hills, headed by architect John Janviriya, has been retained to handle all aspects of the project.

“I decided that I wanted to create an amazing and unique environment for our employees that is unparalleled in the cannabis industry,” says Justin Elias, founder and president of Puff. “The space will be a modern and fun environment, keeping up with the Puff lifestyle and feel that you get with each one of our retail stores. The Troy space is centrally located and accessible to major freeways, and this will allow us to conveniently service our 12 Michigan locations with more to come.”
