PuroClean, a national property restoration franchise, says it will add four franchises in metro Detroit’s fire and water mitigated losses market. PuroClean will concentrate on developing a few select markets nationwide, including Detroit, where the company says demand for restoration services is high.

The company currently has more than 230 locations in its franchise network, and expects to add nearly 60 new franchise officer this year.

“We’re offering entrepreneurs throughout Wayne, Macomb, and Oakland counties a chance to immediately make a positive impact in their local communities,” says Mark W. Davis, PuroClean’s chairman and CEO. “The area is seeing upward of 80 water damage claims a day, with few local resources available to help families and business owners move on from a devastating tragedy.”

Davis says while cleanup and restoration is generally associated with large-scale natural disasters, a significant share of service calls stem from common househould and business mishaps, including malfunctioning washing machines, freezing, bursting, or leaking pipes, mold growth, and kitchen fires. Water damage is the second most frequently filed insurance claim, with more than 14,000 people experiencing it daily, according to the American Insurance Association. The group projects the restoration industry is valued at $188 billion.

Davis and franchise owner Becky Edgren will be speaking about what they call “unprecedented demand” at the Mobile Discovery Day event in Detroit on Thursday, April 6.

The event will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at 27355 Cabaret Dr. in Novi. The first session will take place at 10 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m. Registration information for the event can be found here .
