Grand Rapids-based Priority Health will collaborate with Southfield-based Beaumont Health to create the Beaumont Health Network, a narrow network plan, which offers members a 20 percent decrease in health care costs.

Priority Health introduced their first narrow network — such plans provide consumers with lower premium rates for exclusively using that providers network — in 2016 with Spectrum Health partners. The benefits of the narrow network include coordinated care within a single health system, free health coaching, free virtual visits, care management, and access to Priority Health Cost Estimator.

“Our narrow network plans are becoming increasingly popular because they offer an innovative solution to addressing cost concerns without sacrificing access to quality care,” says Joan Budden, president and CEO of Priority Health. “We’re thrilled to partner with some of the best health systems in the state and to expand our narrow network offerings to the southeast Michigan individual market population.”

With the partnership, MyPriority Silver and MyPriority Bronze plans, which serve Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne county, will offer access to Beaumont Health Network.

“Beaumont remains committed to broadening access to care at Beaumont for all patients, including those buying coverage through the health insurance marketplace,” says Ryan Catignani, vice president of managed care and accountable care services at Beaumont Health. “We are excited about the opportunity to provide access to Beaumont’s patient and family-centered care through a coordinated, competitively priced provider network.”

Founded in 2014 with the merger of Beaumont, Botsford, and Oakwood hospitals, Beaumont Health is Michigan’s largest health care system (based on inpatient admissions and net patient revenue). Last year, the organization posted $4.4 billion net revenue.

With eight hospitals, 174 health centers, nearly 5,000 physicians and 38,000 employees, Beaumont Health is affiliated with the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Wayne State University School of Medicine.
