Huron Capital in Detroit, a lower middle-market private equity firm, has announced its portfolio company, Rampart Exterior Services, has acquired Port Enterprises. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Port is Rampart’s second acquisition since first partnering with Independent Roofing Systems in August 2024. The partnership with Port further enhances Rampart’s customer base and geographic footprint.
Port, a commercial roofing services company in Texas, has operations across the Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi markets.
Founded in 1963, Port provides re-roofing services for education, government, industrial, and other commercial customers.
As part of the transition, Port will continue to be managed locally by the leadership team of Jennifer McCauley, Stephen McCauley, Cody Comstock, and Jake Comstock.
“Port’s core principles of safety, quality, customer service, and reliability are deeply aligned with our vision and remain at the forefront of our operations as we continue to grow,” says Gabe Mesanza, CEO of Rampart.
Rampart Exterior Services was launched by Huron Capital in 2024 as an ExecFactor initiative focused on re-roofing, roofing repair, waterproofing, maintenance, and other exterior restoration services.
The company serves diverse commercial end markets including government, education, health care, life sciences, data centers, manufacturing, and other sectors.
Noting Port is a fourth-generation, family-owned business with deep roots in the growing Texas market.
Brian Rassel, a partner at Huron Capital, says: “This acquisition adds significant scale to the Rampart platform in a key region, with a like-minded partner who is committed to excellence in the skilled trades.”
Founded in Detroit in 1999, over the past 25 years Huron Capital has acquired more than 290 companies through seven investment funds, managing $2 billion-plus in capital on behalf of a global institutional investor base.
