Plum Market in Farmington Hills, a full-service neighborhood grocer with more than 30 store, airport, and foodservice locations, has signed a 30,000-square-foot lease for a store in Palm Beach Gardens, its second Florida location.

Scheduled to open next spring, Plum Market opened its first store in Florida, in Aventura, in 2023. Most recently, that store earned local “Best of” awards from Aventura Magazine and the Miami Herald.

  • Artisan Cheese and Deli selection
  • Fresh, locally baked breads, pastries, and desserts
  • High quality grocery essentials featuring the value priced Field Day brand

“Our focus on local sourcing, with over 100 local brands, demonstrates our dedication to supporting the community and providing the freshest, highest-quality products,” says Matt Jonna, co-founder and CEO of Plum Market.

Matt, along with his brother, Marc Jonna, have more than 25 years of combined experience in the grocery industry.

After leaving the Whole Foods National Operations Team — their father, Eddie Jonna, launched Merchant of Vino in 1974 and grew it into several area locations, which was later sold to Whole Foods. From there, the brothers opened the first Plum Market in 2007 in Bloomfield Township.

“Plum Market’s decision to grow in Palm Beach Gardens reinforces the strength of this market and the draw of our neighborhood centers,” says Patrick McKinley, senior vice president of Regency Centers, developer of the shopping plaza Prosperity Centre where the new store will be located.

“Their high-quality offerings and community-first mindset are exactly what we look for in an operator-and what our customers expect from a Regency property.”

Located at 2410 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, the store will employ 150 employees. The Gardens Mall, co-owned by The Forbes Co. in Southfield, is located a few blocks west of the upcoming Plum Market store.

In addition to locations in Michigan, Ohio, Texas, and Florida, Plum Market is expanding into California, Nebraska, and Virginia.
