Taylor Swift fans will be able to view the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert film with Dolby ATMOS technology starting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Phoenix Theatres Laurel Park Place in Livonia.

The film captures the singer’s summer blockbuster concert “The Eras Tour,” and the Dolby ATMOS recording and presentation technology promises to take the auditory experience to a whole new level, according to theater officials.

With the upcoming release of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” film, the installation of the $1.2 million Dolby ATMOS at Laurel Park was accelerated to ensure that audiences can experience the enhanced version of the film from day one.

What began as an exclusive engagement at AMC theatres due to its anticipation and demand has now expanded to theatres everywhere, allowing fans across the country to be part of this cinematic event.

Phoenix also will be offering guests the opportunity to purchase collectible popcorn tubs and drink cups, specially designed to commemorate the event. Fortunate “Swifties” attending the film will have the chance to receive a complimentary mini poster, while supplies last.

“We are delighted to bring Taylor Swift’s incredible journey to the big screen at Phoenix Theatres Laurel Park Place,” says Austin Johnson, creative/marketing director for Phoenix Theatres. “This concert film was recorded live using Dolby ATMOS technology. It allows you to experience the music as if you were sitting in the front row at the concert. We can’t wait to showcase the immersive quality of ATMOS with our guests.”

In addition to adding the new Dolby equipment, Phoenix Theatres is installing heated reclining seats in the auditorium. The venue also aims to enhance the overall film presentation by creating an immersive and distraction-free environment by turning the auditorium in to a literal “Black Box.”

Moreover, the addition of tactile transducer technology, or Butt Kickers, will further elevate the cinematic experience. These tactile transducers are seamlessly integrated into the seats, allowing audiences to feel the deep bass and vibrations, enhancing the sensation of being a part of the on-screen action.

“The foremost filmmakers are now mixing their soundtracks utilizing ATMOS, which is the first object-based recording process,” says Jordan Hohman, vice president of project development for Phoenix Theatres. “This allows sound to literally have a three-dimensional soundscape that envelops the audience throughout the auditorium, giving the audience an auditory experience that is unmatched, presenting the film or concert as intended.”

Phoenix Theatres says it’s a pioneer in offering exceptional cinematic experiences, currently boasting three theatres equipped with Dolby ATMOS technology. Woodland Mall Grand Rapids first introduced the experience to west Michigan, followed by the opening of Northtowne Mall in west Ohio. The success and response from audiences prompted Phoenix Theatres to extend this sound innovation to Phoenix Laurel Park Place.

Tickets for the Taylor Swift film are available for purchase now at www.phoenixmovies.net, the mobile app, and at the box office. Given the high demand expected for this event, fans are encouraged to reserve their seats in advance. All general admission tickets to Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film will be priced at $19.89; child and senior tickets at $13.13.

Phoenix Theatres opened its first Detroit-area theater in 2001 and currently operates 7 theatres that combined offer 59 screens.
