Pentastar Aviation, an aviation services company located at Oakland County International Airport in Waterford Township, has been selected as a provider of management services and direct air carrier operations for Superior Air-Ground Ambulance’s EC-135 helicopter.

The aircraft, which features advanced equipment and safety features, such as the ability to fly in low-visibility conditions, will be based at Oakland County International Airport. Using the helicopter, Pentastar will primarily provide critical care transport for trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric patients with Henry Ford Health System.

Owned by Edsel B. Ford II, Pentastar provides aircraft management, advisory services, aircraft maintenance, avionics services, interior services, and more. The company has been servicing regional and global travelers for more than 50 years.

“Pentastar’s extensive experience provides us the utmost confidence that our missions will be safe and secure,” says David B. Hill, president of Superior Air Ground Ambulance Service.

Since 1959, Superior has grown to be one of the largest, family-owned ambulance companies in the U.S. and has been servicing southeast Michigan since 2005. It operates a fleet of more than 200 ambulances, with 70 of those in Michigan.
