Troy-based PayAnywhere, a mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution working to provide merchants with tools to grow their businesses today announced it will offer the PayAnywhere 2-in-1 Bluetooth Credit Card Reader at no cost to all new merchants who use the service. The PayAnywhere card reader transforms any Apple or Android device into a mobile POS system and is available on both App stores.

“We know the importance of making sure our merchants have a fast, reliable and secure payments solution,” says Marc Gardner, president and CEO of North American Bancard, the parent company of PayAnywhere. “Because our everyday focus is putting our merchants first, we wanted to give merchants a card reader that offers the ability for secure, EMV transactions – protecting them from costly chargebacks and fraudulent purchases.”

After the rollout of Europay, Mastercard, and Visa’s chip cards in Oct. 2015 signaled a transition in fraud liability, most big box merchants began shifting to accept chip-protected credit cards. However, many small businesses have been slower to adopt the security enhancement due to costs associated with the upgrade. PayAnywhere’s fully functional Bluetooth EMV reader will allow these companies to accept cards, which minimize chargebacks and fraud risk.

PayAnywhere is a mobile payments solution that provides a seamless checkout experience for both merchants and customers, featuring next-day funding, real-time analytics, and U.S.-based customer service. Comprehensive reporting features are available as part of PayAnywhere inside, the online portal with an interactive dashboard that provides data and tools to help merchants make informed decisions regarding sales and inventory.

PayAnywhere accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover for one rate without set up or monthly fees. The 2-in-1 Bluetooth reader replaces previously offered magstripe reader, and more information can be found here.
