Oxford Cos., a full-service real estate firm in Ann Arbor, and A&H Lawn Service in Saline, have announced a new partnership to introduce electric lawn equipment for use at Oxford’s commercial properties.
Looking to reduce emissions as part of Ann Arbor’s A2ZERO program, the two businesses have invested in fully electric equipment that this year will serve 33 percent of the lawn care needs for Oxford’s portfolio.
In 2024, two-thirds of the equipment will become fully electric with the purchase of additional equipment, and the companies state they will be fully electric the following year.
When it comes to mowing expansive lawns at commercial buildings, lawn maintenance companies have long used gas-powered mowers, trimmers, and blowers to maintain grounds.
Electric equipment hasn’t been used on a widespread level at larger properties like Oxford’s because of financial feasibility and technical shortcomings, making the transition a difficult task.
“We want to maintain our relationship with Oxford for the long haul, and invest in this relationship,” says Jim Hoeft, an operations manager at A&H Lawn Service. “Our mission statement includes a belief in constant improvement and innovation, so there’s a huge overlap in our respective organizations’ priorities and values.”
A&H’s electric equipment will be used exclusively at Oxford’s commercial properties this year.
Founded in 1998, Oxford’s services include property management, commercial and residential leasing, commercial construction, and investments.
A&H Lawn Service was founded in 1991 by Tim Austin and Brandon Hertel. The company provides landscape maintenance and landscape installation services as well as snow and ice removal and irrigation systems management.
