Charlie Knoll, founder and owner of Ducati Detroit, has acquired BMW Motorcycles of Southeast Michigan, located at Five Mile Road and Sheldon Road in Plymouth Township and the No. 1 volume BMW motorcycle dealership in Michigan for the last 15 years.
The COVID-19 pandemic delayed the sale, but Ducati Detroit, which offers a full line of the manufacturer’s motorcycles, saw an unexpected increase in demand during this time.
“With many people unable to spend their disposable income on traveling or other restricted pastimes, plenty of riders turned to Ducati Detroit for a new bike, including a good amount of first-timers,” Knoll says.
Part of the seamless transition at the BMW dealership for Knoll was ensuring everyone was able to keep their jobs. He retained the entire existing team at the dealership, as well as expressing desire to hire new salespeople, technicians, mechanics, and porters.
Ducati Detroit, located on Woodward Avenue in Birmingham, just north of 14 Mile Road, has been recognized as the top Ducati sales volume dealer in the Midwest, as well as a top 10 dealer nationwide.
