Open Dodgeball Tournament to Support Boy Scout Programs

The Great Lakes Field Service Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host a Dodgeball Tournament in July at Detroit’s Rivard Plaza to raise funds for scouting programs that support underprivileged youths in metro Detroit.

“Dodge for Detroit is a great opportunity for young professionals to tap into their philanthropic side by providing funding to the youth in the city of Detroit who would benefit the most from our scouting program, all while being active and having a great time right after work,” says Vic Pooler, CEO of the Great Lakes Field Service Council.

The competition, which is open to the public, will feature teams of six to 10 players who participate in a round robin-style Dodgeball tournament. The event also includes food and drinks from vendors in the metro Detroit. Mojo from Mojo in the Morning on Channel 955 will MC the event.

Proceeds will go to Boy Scout outreach programs that focus on character development and leadership skills for more than 4,000 socioeconomically disadvantaged youths in the region.

The event will be held on July 29 at Rivard Plaza on the east riverfront in Detroit. To register for the event, click here
