CBS Radio Detroit has launched Detroit’s Boulevard, a station that plays only selections from regional artists. The station is available at 104.3-FM (WOMC-HD3), or streaming online at womc.com and radio.com, and via the Radio.com app for smartphones and tablets.

The new station brings listeners the best of Detroit’s old and new music, says Tim Roberts, program director for Detroit’s Boulevard.

“The Detroit music scene has always been vibrant, producing Motown legends such as Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross, and rock legends Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, and Jack White,” Roberts says. “Today’s hot Detroit music scene is just as exciting with bands and solo acts filling the local clubs and venues.”

Listeners will hear songs performed by Mayer Hawthorne, The Ready Set, and Mike Posner as well as Kid Rock, Eminem, Madonna, and Aretha Franklin.

Roberts says he’s been bragging about the Detroit music scene for years and believes the station is long overdue. “We’d love to hear from Detroit area bands that have professionally mastered CDs and product,” Roberts says. He adds that local artists can submit their music for consideration to Tim Roberts c/o Boulevard, 26455 American Drive, Southfield, MI 48034.
