Chicago-based on-demand dry cleaning and laundry company, DRYV, has expanded its services to Detroit.
“Detroit’s getting a lot of energy in the startup community, and it’s really becoming an emerging area,” says Dan Parsons, co-founder of DRYV. “We thought it would be a good second market close to Chicago that we could get started in.”
DRYV’s laundry and dry cleaning services are now offered in downtown Detroit as well as several area cities, including Oak Park, Ferndale, Royal Oak, Berkley, Birmingham, Clawson, and Bloomfield Hills.
Parsons says DRYV works with Berkley-based The Huntington Company, which owns Huntington Cleaners in Huntington Woods.
DRYV customers submit their email address and ZIP code on the app or website, and schedule a pickup time for their laundry, similar to apps like Uber or Lyft. All orders are available for next-day delivery.
A launch event hosted by the co-working space Bamboo Detroit will be held on July 23 at the Centre Park Bar in Detroit. Attendees will be able to meet DRYV’s founders, as well as local entrepreneur Wayne Wudyka of The Huntington Company.
