OHM Advisors in Livonia Acquires Tennessee and Florida Firms

OHM Advisors, a Livonia-based architecture, engineering, and planning firm, has acquired THY Inc. in Memphis, Tenn., and Griner Engineering based in St. Petersburg, Fla. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

THY is a land surveying and civil engineering company providing land surveying, site development, and transportation infrastructure to an array of public and private clients.

“There is a shared focus and passion between OHM Advisors and THY when it comes to the public sector and opportunities to expand and enhance infrastructure offerings,” says Jon Kramer, president of OHM Advisors.

“This acquisition strengthens OHM Advisors’ presence in Tennessee, which already includes offices in Nashville, Louisville, Knoxville, and a new location in Clarksville to enhance the firm’s survey capabilities.

“With the addition of THY, OHM Advisors is able to expand its footprint into Memphis, further scaling our operations across the state. We look forward to leveraging THY’s expertise, strong relationships and technical capabilities to meet our mission of advancing communities.”

The acquisition closed on Nov. 11, which is the date when the THY team officially joined OHM Advisors.

Griner Engineering, which has a presence in Sevierville, Tenn., as well as St. Peterburg, specializes in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services.

Founded in 1968, Griner Engineering serves a wide range of clients, including municipal, educational, commercial, and industrial sectors nationwide.

The acquisition closed on Oct. 7, 2024.

OHM Advisors has a more than 700-person team with offices in eight states.
