NewCo Conference Offers Inside Look of Detroit Companies

1665

The third annual NewCo Detroit, a mix of open studio tours and a business conference that offers participants a chance to go behind the scenes of local companies, returns to Detroit in October.

“We are so excited to return to Detroit,” says John Battelle, founder of NewCo. “Last year more than 1,000 people took advantage of the opportunity to attend events and presentations at about 60 start-up and high-growth companies and non-profits, and we’re looking forward to even more participation this year.”

Host companies will have the chance to meet marketers, potential recruits, media, investors, and civic and community leaders and have conversations about topics important to their companies. Some of the 2014 host companies were Ponyride, a live and work space; Heidelberg Project; Team Detroit, an advertising agency; Skidmore Studio, a design studio; Techtown Detroit; Shinola Detroit, and Focus: HOPE, a nonprofit dedicated to overcoming racism and poverty.

NewCo, founded in 2012, is an international event concept, with entrepreneurial-themed events held in Mexico City, Istanbul, San Francisco, and Cincinnati, among other cities.
