Hounds Town USA, a dog day care franchise, will come to Michigan with three metro Detroit locations. The first will be in Troy and will open this summer.

Pete Mourad, the franchisee, is finalizing the lease of the Troy location and continues to look for two more store locations in the region. He is a graduate from Western Michigan University and spent 20 years working as executive vice president of sales for A. E. Mourad, his family’s insurance agency in Madison Heights. He recently sold the business.

“Over the last 10 years, Detroit has made one of the most incredible comebacks, and it’s so exciting,” says Mourad. “With a steadily growing economy and a culture of real hometown pride coming back, it’s a great space to be in. And there’s such a love of dogs in the city. I’m confident that Hounds Town USA will be successful here.”

Hounds Town USA offers daycare, overnight dog boarding, a pet spa, pet taxi services, retail, cat care, and dog training. It was founded in 2001 in New York and has locations in New York and New Jersey.
