New Outlet Mall to Open Near Grand Rapids, Another Planned for 2017

The new $80 million Tanger Factory Outlet Center will open next week near Grand Rapids and another retail complex, called Knapp’s Crossing, plans to open in spring 2017 in the region.

“The Tanger Outlets in Grand Rapids is a 350,000 square foot outlet center has (more than) 100 retail stores,” says Gregory Newman, a principal at Keystone Real Estate. He spoke Thursday a conference in Novi at the Michigan Chapter of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

The center, located about 10 miles south of downtown Grand Rapids, will includes a Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, Under Armor, Fosil, Sketchers, and White House Black Market.

Knapp’s Crossing, located about 10 miles northeast of downtown Grand Rapids, is in the beginning stages of development and has begun singing tenants such as D&W Fresh Market (a local grocery store chain founded in Grandville) Bagger Dave’s, PF Chang’s, Marshall’s, and Bravo! Cucina Italiana, an Italian restaurant with restaurant locations in Rochester Hills, Livonia, and Dearborn, among other Michigan cities.
