A new lifestyle boutique called Tenue will offer shoppers a West Coast-inspired collection of designer clothing for women and men, accessories, and furnishings when it opens this September in Grosse Pointe Woods.
The boutique, located at 19830 Mack Ave., will carry designer fashion brands such as Nili Lotan, Zimmerman, Alexis, Shrimps, jewelry by Larkspur and Hawk, and more for women, while pieces from Zadig and Voltaire, Peter Millar, and Johnny O will be available for men.
“We want our store to be a shopping destination for both men and woman,” says Michelle Beaudette-Grates, owner of Tenue and Girlie Girl, a salon and boutique located next door. “Fashion is not about the latest trend, but creating your own individual style that is a reflection of who you are.”
Grooming products and the boutique’s lounge furniture and accent lighting will also be available for purchase, while a self-serve espresso bar will be located towards the back of the store.
Grates says Tenue will carry unique pieces, which marry West Coast style with Midwest sensibility, that are not easy to find in southeast Detroit.
“At least once a year I travel to L.A. — I used to live out there — and I go to New York several times a year,” she says. “I always try to hit the hot boutiques and see what they’re carrying. We have (designer) Nili Lotan. She’s been around for 10 years, but no one in Michigan has her and its beautiful clothing.”
Tenue will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday; and 12 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
