New iPhone Case Developed in Detroit Allows for Hands-Free Selfies

Mega Tiny Corp., a company founded in Detroit, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus cases outfitted with suction cups that stick to almost any smooth surface — perfect for taking hands-free selfies.

“The unique Nano-suction material packs together millions of miniature suction cups as tight as the cells of your skin — so it sticks, but doesn’t feel sticky, and it resists attracting dirt and lint while in your pocket or elsewhere,” says Wannie Park, co-founder of Mega Tiny Corp.

Park says besides hands-free selfies, the special phone case can use the FaceTime function with the phone stuck to a computer or whiteboard, stick the phone on a car’s console while using the GPS function when driving, among other uses. The case is reusable and washable.

Park and Carl Winans, principal of Detroit-based Oceanvue, a Web design and development firm, founded the company. Mega Tiny has also designed screen protectors for the iPhone and the new Apple Watch.

The company, which has about a month left in their Kickstarter campaign, is hoping to raise $25,000. Customers who donate $34 or more to the campaign will receive a Zero G iPhone 6 case, expected to ship in May.
