Mainstreet Mob, a new digital and event marketing company, will makes its debut March 10. The platform allows small businesses and shoppers to connect through social media and cash mob events, where people join together to make purchases at local businesses as a show of support.

Users who join the online Mainstreet Mob platform earn points, prizes, rewards, and other perks in return for participating.

“For a fraction of the cost, Mainstreet Mob will be putting an entire expert team and community of  … potential new customers behind small businesses, who otherwise might not have the access,” says Margarita Barry of Mainstreet Mob.

In addition to live events, Mainstreet Mob also takes over the social media of each small business during a 90-day campaign. Local shops and businesses can offload their social media marketing work to the team and focus on running their business.

According to Barry, with Mainstreet Mob small business owners can save 20 hours a week by handing over their social media marketing and have the option to extend the service even when their mob event is over.

“Mainstreet Mob is creating digital and event marketing solutions to reduce gaps and help these underrepresented businesses in Detroit shine through,” says Barry.

The platform is part of a larger effort, I Am Mainstreet America, a digital media company that highlights America’s small business entrepreneurs and mobilizes citizens.

The Mainstreet Mob marketing campaign includes learning everything about a business before creating a custom brand kit and marketing plan. Next, the team generates social media content such as photographs, videos, graphics, and posts.
