Atomic Coffee, a coffee shop that will feature bakery items and breakfast options, will open in the former location of Caribou Coffee in downtown Royal Oak.
Royal Oak-based Hanna Development & Management is renovating the coffee shop, at 401 S. Main St., which has been vacant since 2013.
“We love Royal Oak and being part of the city,” says Monica Minor, general manager of Atomic Coffee. “We’re really excited to be on one of the busiest corners in the city and developing a relationship with the community.”
Miner says the new shop will feature a bakery menu with breakfast options like oatmeal and yogurt parfaits from a bakery in Ferndale. Free Wi-Fi and seating options will be available.
She says the property has undergone a complete interior demolition and renovations. Hanna Development also owns several Royal Oak restaurants including Iron Horse, D’Amato’s restaurant, and Goodnight Gracie Jazz and Martini Bar.
The coffee shop is expected to open in August.
