ROAK Brewing Co., a 30-barrel brew house and taproom featuring craft beers, pizzas, and small plates will open next week in Royal Oak.

"Our team is passionate about producing the best possible brews, distributing them to the region's finest restaurants and retailers, and serving them in the area's most unique and welcoming environment," says John Leone, co-owner of ROAK Brewing Co.

Leone and his partners invested $4 million to renovate a former warehouse at 332 E. Lincoln Ave., south of the downtown district, near Troy Street, and hire 25 employees. Most of the space in the 18,000-square-foot facility will be dedicated to the production and bottling of seven Michigan-inspired craft beers.

The production facility has a 13,500 annual barrel capacity. The beers include an oatmeal stout, an India pale ale, a cantaloupe-infused American wheat, a Belgian strong dark ale, a Belgian white, a Session IPA, and an American-style amber. ROAK brews will be served in-house and distributed for sale in restaurants and retailers throughout the region.

The 70-seat taproom, with a 28-person capacity outdoor deck, will feature traditional deck-oven pizzas and various small plates created by Chef Ralph Leone, John’s brother. The taproom features a 30-foot-high glass sculpted bar backdrop designed by local artist and sculptor Mark Bommarito.

ROAK Brewing Co. opens June 18.
