MPS Group in Farmington Hills has acquired Canada’s Abednego Environmental.

Farmington Hills’ MPS Group, which offers specialized industrial and waste management services, has acquired Abednego Environmental, a provider of industrial wastewater treatment and comprehensive automotive paint services in Canada. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The acquisition of Abednego Environmental builds on our 15-year presence in Canada and will serve to diversify our portfolio, adding industrial wastewater treatment to complement our longstanding automotive paint service for our automotive customers in Canada,” says Ed Schwartz, president and CEO of MPS Group. “We are excited to integrate our new colleagues into our growing MPS Group team.”

The acquisition marks the second in six months. MPS Group acquired EnE Consultants in August 2018, expanding its presence into the gulf states and adding oil and gas consulting to its services. The company’s overall growth strategy has increased revenue by 45 percent in three years, and it now has nearly 650 employees in North America.

MPS Group services clients focusing on automotive and steel manufacturing. Abednego has a more-than-25-year history in the automotive paint industry in Canada, and its operations will continue to be led by Cam Seatle, who has managed the company for more than 10 years.

MPS Group was founded in 1995 and has offices in Michigan, Ohio, and Louisiana, and customer locations in more than 28 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico.
