Detroit-based Paxahau, a dance music events promoter and producer of Movement Music Festival, one of the longest-running dance music events in the world, has announced an exclusive partnership with Twitch, an interactive streaming service for entertainment, gaming, and music.

Paxahau, a boutique production company that specializes in booking, event management, and promotions, has launched Paxahau.TV as part of the partnership and will be streaming exclusive weekly programming, as well as four Movement-themed virtual festivals, exclusively on Twitch’s website.

The first event of the Movement Music Festival’s series, Movement Selects Vol. 1, will air on Sept. 25 and 26. It will feature performances by Juan Atkins, Eddie Fowlkes, Kevin Saunderson as Inner City, and more.

“The Twitch community brings a unique energy to live streaming that we didn’t find anywhere else,” says Jason Huvaere, president of Paxahau. “We’re excited for the opportunity to work with the Twitch team and give the Twitch community of 17.5 million average daily visitors a chance to experience what makes Movement and Detroit dance music culture so special.”

“Remote,” one of the streams featured on Paxahau.TV, will showcase DJ sets and performances of electronic music artists, record labels, and collectives from locations around the world.

Paxahau will also launch Paxahau HQ, which will stream immersive DJ sets and performances exclusively from Paxahau’s Detroit headquarters; as well as Paxachat, a variety video podcast show featuring live discussions, studio sessions, panels, and more.

Paxahau began producing events in 1993 and launched the Paxahau brand in 1998. It assumed complete management for the Movement Electronic Music Festival in 2006.

The 2021 Movement Festival will offer three-day and one-day passes, available here. The event is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend and will take place in Detroit’s Hart Plaza.
