Motor1, an automotive technology and multimedia company with U.S. headquarters in Detroit and global headquarters in Miami, has acquired Carplace.com.br, a Brazil-based digital automotive platform. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Company officials say the acquisition allows Motor1, which is part of the Motorsport Network family of digital media platforms, to expand its global presence that includes properties in the U.S., Italy, Canada, Turkey, and France.
The company expects to be in over 15 editions by the end of next year in up to 10 languages.
“With a presence in Brazil, a country of (200 million) people and largest (economy) in the region, we now have six international editions operating on our custom content platform,” says Gustavo A. Roche, senior vice president of Business Development for Motorsport Network.
Motor1 focuses on automotive content, such as news, car reviews, buying guides, pricelists, and videos.
Motorsport Network manages a global broadcast network, live events, print media titles and multiple websites, forums, e-commerce, gaming, and editorial syndication platforms operating in 16 languages across 60 international markets.
