Motor City Harley-Davidson will build an $8 million dealership that will also offer a brewpub-style restaurant, a gourmet market, and a drive-in outdoor theater. Construction is expected to begin in April in Farmington Hills.
“We are making a major investment back into the community that Motor City Harley-Davidson has called home for the past 17 years,” says Tom Celani, owner of Motor City Harley-Davidson. “The new Motor City Harley-Davidson will become a gathering place for riders who love the Harley-Davidson lifestyle.”
Celani says the 106,000-square-foot complex, to be located at a former 10-acre Sam’s Club site at 24800 Haggerty Rd., is expected to open in late August. He says the dealership will feature indoor/outdoor space that will accommodate large groups of riders for the drive-in theater. The new dealership will also offer a Harley-Davidson Academy riding course with on-site instruction and a state-certified riding course.
Motor City Harley-Davidson, which will move from its former location at 34900 Grand River Ave. in Farmington Hills, will add about 20 additional employees to its current staff of 50. The new dealership also includes an onsite winter storage area for up to 1,200 motorcycles.
Celani also owns the Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights, Motor City Power Sports, and Brighton Harley-Davidson. He founded Novi-based Luna Entertainment and the Celani Family Vineyards. In November, Luna Entertainment announced Palace Sports and Entertainment will manage bookings and marketing for the Freedom Hill Amphitheatre.​
