Martinez joined Comerica in 2006 and will continue to manage the bank’s national Hispanic business development program and serve as the community liaison in Michigan, focusing on deepening community partnerships.
Under her leadership, Comerica has been named in the top 10 on Hispanic Business Magazine’s Diversity Elite 60 list and the No. 1 company for supplier diversity for two consecutive years. Latina Style Magazine named Comerica one of the top companies for Latinas to work. Comerica also launched a Spanish website and began accepting the Matricula Consular identification card at Comerica banking centers nationwide during Martinez’s tenure.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Martinez holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University, where she majored in international business with a focus in marketing. She studied interdisciplinary technology with a concentration in business management at EMU for her graduate work and has certificates in nonprofit management from Duke University in North Carolina and corporate community relations management from Boston College in Massachusetts. She is also a graduate of the Southern Methodist University management program and is certified in diversity management from Cornell University in New York.
