Ferndale’s Zoyes Creative, which offers design services including architectural models and renderings, brand development, digital experiences, and environmental branding and wayfinding, has expanded its operations with the opening of an office early this month in the building that also houses The Fillmore Detroit.

The 2,000-square-foot office space initially will house seven of Zoyes’ brand-side team members who will relocate from Ferndale. Zoyes has experienced growth in environmental branding and wayfinding work, including projects with Detroit commercial real estate developers Bedrock Detroit and The Platform, that necessitated the expansion.

Zoyes saw an increase of about 20 percent in revenue related to environmental branding and wayfinding work with commitments for projects beyond that figure in 2020. Current projects include City Modern in Brush Park, The Assembly in Corktown, The Boulevard in New Center, and Chroma in Milwaukee Junction.

“Relocating our brand team to Detroit’s vibrant downtown not only will translate to increased efficiencies in our local client work but also will serve as an inspiration to our creative process and products, as well as solidifying our relevancy among the creative agency landscape,” says Aimee Zoyes, co-founder and president.  “Our partners and our work product are found throughout Detroit, so we know it is integral for us to be here as well.”

Zoyes will retain its 4,000-square-foot Ferndale studio, which serves as a maker space for its Form team and offers a facility for the company’s architectural visualization and environmental production work. The location has housed the company for 15 years, and it includes a workshop for models and signage. It houses equipment such as 3-D printers and laser cutters.

The company works on residential property presentation and sales centers, retail displays, restaurant and hospitality signage, commercial wall graphics, nonprofit donor walls, murals, and more. It is also the team behind Bedrock’s interactive large-scale model of a part of Detroit and Olympia Development of Michigan’s District Detroit and Little Caesars Arena models.

“Zoyes is a full-service creative agency – brand and form – in that we produce both the ideas/concepts and the physical/finished design products,” says Dean Zoyes, founding partner. “Now we will have the best and most appropriate environments to fulfill both of those deliverables to our growing client base, locally and nationally.”

Zoyes’ new office space has a five-year lease agreement and was customized by Patrick Thompson Design.
