Mobile Women’s Fashion Boutique Opens Store in Downtown Plymouth

What started as an online retailer  — and grew into one of the state’s few mobile fashion trucks — has established more permanent roots with the opening of a brick-and-mortar location in downtown Plymouth.

“Even with the online sales, there were still plenty of people that wanted to touch stuff and try it on,” says Nikki Mattison, who opened Madison Boutique’s online store in 2013, followed by a mobile fashion truck last year. “I opened (the Main Street location) to give people who prefer more traditional shopping the chance to do that.”

Like its online and mobile counterparts, Mattison’s offers women’s clothing and accessories, including jewelry and handbags. And like the 15-foot, purple truck — which can comfortably hold up to eight women and includes a dressing room with a full-length mirror — private parties and styling are available by appointment.

During the winter, the storefront will be open Thursdays through Sundays and will add new inventory at the beginning of each week, Mattison says. She plans to add more days when walking traffic increases during the spring and summer.

Eventually, Mattison says she hopes to expand the size of her location at 915 Main St. “The end goal is to continuously keep that truck really busy, to have a steady flow through the store, and to continue to have great online sales,” she says.
